Once the mansion of Marion Koogler McNay, she left her estate and collection of over 700 paintings to an endowment to transform her home into the first museum of modern art in Texas. Besides their stunning permanent collection, the McNay brings in astounding temporary exhibitions several times a year. Free admission on the first Sunday of each month and on Tuesday nights from 4-9PM. Children under 12 always enter for free. For more information, click here.

If you haven’t been by the Witte Museum in a few years, it is time to stop on in. There have been some incredible changes and growth at the Witte recently. Take advantage of your trip and check our the current temporary exhibition, Mythic Creatures: Dragons, Unicorns, and Mermaids, on view till Jan. 12, 2020. For more info click here.


The San Antonio Museum of Arts (SAMA) opened its doors in its newly renovated space of what once was Lone Star Brewery Complex in 1981. The museum began with a strong emphasis on pre-Columbian, Spanish Colonial, and Latin American arts. It grew to house eighteenth, nineteenth, twentieth century, and contemporary American & European paintings, photographs, sculpture, and decorative arts. Come by and see it all!
